The thin film applications/solutions are more suited to the UK climate because they convert daylight, not direct sunlight into electricity. The absorption of sunlight makes these solar applications about 16% more efficient than glass panels (which rely in direct sunlight). This also means that these panels are less sensitive to direction and angle of installation.

UNI-SOLAR thin film photovoltaic has been in the market place for more than 20 years and is MCS accredited enabling users to take advantage of the Feed-In Tariff. Each PV module uses the exclusive triple-junction solar cell with thin-film silicon, in which the component blue, green and red spectrum of sunlight is absorbed by different layers present. This ability to split is the key to greater productivity, especially at lower levels of solar radiation associated with the UK climate.

UNI SOLAR best characteristic is its greater production in electric power per KWp with power ranging from 5% to 25% compared to glass panels.

The modules are:

  • Resistant to the elements.
  • Can be stepped on, there is no glass.
  • Very light (3.5 kg/m2), and in the same time unbreakable; with an exceptional performance and durability.
  • Provide a lower loss of efficiency at high temperatures.
